Finally moving forward

The end of July is here already...where has the summer gone? The last week has been pretty eventful. Wednesday morning I had another follow-up appointment with Dr. Dudley (the RE). We talked about what my options are since I won't be able to get into the neurologist he wants me to see until October. I was excited to find out that he's going to let us get started on some treatment!! Finally after 10 months of waiting we will hopefully be making some progress soon. After talking to him I was slightly taken aback by his decision. He told me with my hormone levels so low, I wouldn't respond to oral medications so he wanted to start us directly into injectibles and IUI (intra uterine insemination). Luckily he said we wouldn't have to go straight into an IUI though and we could try 'naturally' with the injectibles for a couple months. Considering the cost of the medications and IUI this was a relief...and neither of us felt like we were ready to jump that far into treatment yet. So I had some more bloodwork done and they told me they'd get back to me within 24 hours. Needless to say by Friday morning I still hadn't heard back from them so I gave them a call. The nurse left me a message when I was at work that said the dr. wanted to call me personally with the results...so I was a little freaked out by this!! And of course he didn't call me Friday so I had to wait all weekend for what he had to say..but I finally got the call this afternoon and he had some good news..my hormone levels have increased since my last blood work!!! So instead of going straight into injectible medications he wants me to start on 100 mg. of Clomid and to make things even better he had the prescription called in and I start my first dose tonight!! I will go back to the office a week from Wednesday for a follow-up appointment and another ultrasound. So we're praying that this will work and we won't have to go into any stronger medications or treatment.

After the doctor appointment, Andy and I went to visit my friend Keren and her new baby Norah that finally arrived the night before!! So we stopped by the hospital and I held the baby while we visited with Keren and Steve (and Steve's parents). Norah is sooo precious and tiny :) CONGRATS Keren!! I will upload some pictures as soon as I get my camera back!

Wednesday night we went over to our friend's Brad and Katie's for a bbq and some games. Brad made us some delicious mojitos and I had a few too many..but we had a great time hanging out with them and Lindsey and Chris. We played Apples to Apples and Guitar Hero :) We decided we definitely need to hang out with all of them more often!!

Sunday was another busy day. Andy's parents flew in for the day. Since I had worked till 2 a.m. Saturday night, Andy and Jon got up and picked them up, then came back to get me before we went out to do something. We took them up to Seattle and walked around the waterfront and Pike's Place. Then we had lunch at Red Robin which was delicious, as usual! :) After Seattle we decided to stop at the new and improved Southcenter/Westfield Shopping Center in Tukwila. They had the grand re-opening this weekend with like 80 new stores and several restaurants! Unfortunately there was an insane amount of people, so it was too crowded to enjoy the shopping and I was pretty tired from my lack of sleep anyways. After the mall Andy's parents were pretty tired, as were we, so we dropped them back off at the airport to try to get an earlier flight and headed home.

We got home and relaxed for a bit before heading over to my best friend Katie's parents house to visit her twin sisters that are both in town from Alaska and England!! It was great to see both of them again, as usual it's been way too long! We hung out and visited and watched everyone sing karaoke before we came home and called it a night!

Another week gone by..

Another week gone by...this summer is going WAY too fast, the up side to that is our trip to New York is only a month away!! :) Well, I had another eventful week :) Last Monday (the 14th) was my friend Kati's 21st birthday (FINALLY!!) so we met her, her husband and a group of their friends at Jazzbones in Tacoma to join them in the celebration. Unfortunately I had too much fun on my birthday, so I wasn't feeling up to partaking in the beverages! lol..oh well, we had fun anyways.

Wednesday was a big day...I got my first tattoo!!! I had decided after a lot of thought that I wanted a cross, so I found a design I liked and took it to a tattoo artist at Class Act up on South Hill. We went in at 1 and she had drawn up the cross, I suggested a few changes, then she got started. When she was done I realized it was a little bigger than I intended, but now I love it! :) And it's in a place that can be hidden by my hair if I need to anyways. It's almost completely healed, then I think I will like it more since I won't have to worry about it itching and putting lotion on it all the time. And I totally see why people say tattoos are addicting, I totally want another one!

The rest of the week wasn't too exciting...just another busy summer week at work and I babysat yesterday morning. After babysitting I met up at the Rock for the pizza lunch buffet with Christia, Keren, Laura, Carly and Jessica (and all their little ones!) It was a last lunch before Christia left for their big move to Iowa today :( We are going to miss her sooo much! After the last few months of hanging out and getting back in touch I'm so sad to see her go, but hopefully it will only be for a few years and then they will be back here!

Tonight I went and picked Andy up at work and we went to the Mariners game :) Our seats were way out in Left Field, but it was still fun and they played Andy's favorite team (the Red Sox) and of course the Sox one! :)

Tomorrow morning I have another follow-up appointment with Dr. Dudley...so I'm hoping to finally get something rolling and figure out what we can do! I will updates as soon as I have them. Ohh....and I get to go see little Norah Kate!!! Keren sent me a text tonight that she was born today, I can't wait to see her, I will have to post some pictures of her when I get them also!!

The big 2-5!!

Wow...where does the time go?? I feel like I'm still a teenager...I can't believe I turned 25 on Friday!! I had an awesome birthday though! I took the day off work and so did Andy, we got up and went to Jamba Juice for smoothies, then Andy took me shopping where I picked out a couple cute shirts, a belt and some earrings. We then went to the park and walked around before heading home to relax before a busy night. I layed in the sun and attempted to nap while Andy took a nap inside.

After a while I got too hot and came in to get ready for dinner. We met my mom, Dean, Steve, Jon and Nancy and Kenny for dinner at Sakura in Tacoma. The food was great, but I will definitely stick with Tokyo! The food tastes the same there and the cooks do way more tricks!! After eating our delicious dinner we dropped my mom's car off and headed down to the Longhorn BBQ in Auburn for the dueling piano show. Needless to say I had WAYYY more than I should've too drink and did some dancing up by the pianos and with my friends :) hehe..oh well...I had a blast and didn't do anything TOO crazy!!! It was nice to actually have a weekend night off and be able to go out!!

We headed home around midnight and I went straight too bed and thankfully I woke up feeling pretty good on Saturday! It was off for another 2 nights at work..now here I am still awake cuz my mind has been racing after a crazy busy night at work but I should get going cuz I have to get up early to babysit in the morning!!

Summer has finally arrived!!

Well...it's been a while since my last update...not much has changed since then..just living life one day at a time..waiting on dr. appts to figure out what's wrong and what we can do! On Saturday the 21st my mom and I spent the morning at Meeker Days in downtown Puyallup. We had a lot of fun checking out all the vendors set up and both got some nice candles and Rainier Cherries! Sunday Andy and I went to church, then I was off to work for my friday :)

Monday started my weekend and Andy had the day off too which was very nice! So we got up and showered, then hit the road! We made our first stop at Wendys for lunch and frostys, then we went to Lumber Liquidators to check out their hardwood flooring. We picked out a sample that we liked and brought it home and we're thinking that will be our next project! After that we decided to drive over to Snoqualmie Falls. The falls were beautiful and we hiked the short trail down to the base to check it out from that view. We were very glad we took the time to go out there, it was an incredible site!

Tuesday I started my day off at the gym, then had a much needed massage!! I really should get one every week since insurance pays for it..but I always get busy and forget to make appointments. After my massage I came home for a quick shower and lunch, then met my mom at work and walked on the trail during her lunch break! Later that afternoon I drove up to Southcenter Mall and met Katie and Joy for some girl time. We shopped for a while, then had dinner at Bahama Breeze (it's become the usual spot with my friends it seems!) After dinner I headed home to hang out with Andy the rest of the night.

Wednesday a.m. I met up with Christia, Keren and the boys for a walk on the Orting Trail! It was a beautiful sunny day and we walked and talked for a couple miles, so that was nice! My mom called me while I was driving home, so she stopped by and had lunch with me, it's so nice that she works so close that she can just pop over during her lunch break!! We chatted a bit, and then she headed back to work and I cleaned house a bit and hung out till Andy got home.

Saturday the 28th I had the day off and I was blessed with a beautiful day!! The sun was shining and Andy had the a.m. off, so we went up to Bradley Lake park for a walk, then came home and I layed in the sun for a while, hoping to get some much needed color on my white body!! After a bit I came in and got ready for Keren's baby shower. I had a lot of fun playing games and chatting..and there were a few babies there also :) When I got home from the shower, Andy and I went up to see my parents at their neighbor's house and went in their pool for a while before BBQ'ing. We were pretty tired from the hot weather, so we went home early and watched a movie before we crashed.

Yesterday (Monday) started a new 'weekend' for me already! I got up early and babysat for my friend's Brad and Katie for a few hours. Then I was supposed to go volunteer at the CTU at Good Sam..but I was feeling so exhausted and overwhelmed with my commitment, that I told them I wouldn't make it. My dad had called and wanted me to go down to visit him and my sisters..so I decided to take advantage of the day off and go down there. We went over to Burfoot Park and hiked the trail to the beach. We hung out down there and layed in the sun for a bit before hiking back up to the car and driving over to the marina to check out all the boats. Then it was a drive home for me. Andy called and had a bad day at work, so I decided to treat him to one of his favorites and I took him out to Famous Daves for some yummy BBQ :)

Now 2 more days off to enjoy...so I'm off to do just that!! Until next time... :)
