He hates his sunglasses!

Saturday was Hudson's '2 month birthday'! I can't believe how fast time is going and how quickly our little one is growing up. He has definitely turned from the newborn stage to the infant stage now. He is awake for longer periods during the daytime, smiles and giggles when we talk to him or when he's playing on his activity mat, is slowly getting into a daily and night time routine and is sleeping much better at night!

We are having so much fun with both Andy and I being on leave. I am sooo not excited or ready to go back to work :( I'm so glad that I'm able to take almost 4 months off though, so I won't be going back until July 7th!!
The last few weeks we have continued to stay busy. We've taken Hudson on several shopping trips, went to Bothell to see the Smith's and baby Hayden, visited with Grandma and Grandpa Thompson several times and even took Hudson to his first wedding (of many we have this summer!) last Saturday. My cousin Patrick got married Saturday at the home of his new wife's grandparents. It was a very quaint and intimate ceremony with just their close friends and family. It was nice to be able to celebrate with them and we are excited that they are also expecting their first child this coming November. So Hudson will have a 2nd cousin very close in age!

Today was Hudson's 2 month well baby visit at the pediatrician. They took his measurements and he's growing great! His stats:
Weight: 10 lbs 5.5 oz (15th percentile)

Height/Length: 23 inches (50th percentile)

Head Circumference: 16 inches (60th percentile)
He also had to have 2 vaccines and the oral Rotavirus vaccine. I feel so bad seeing him get the shots but he did great and only cried for a minute. He was a little more sleepy and fussy today but overall no bad reaction from the shots which is a relief!

Happy Mothers Day!!

Sunday was Mother's Day, a holiday I dreaded the past 2 years while going through infertility but was sooo excited to celebrate this year!! We woke up early Sunday morning (Hudson's normal routine) and he gave me my first gift by going back to sleep after eating, until 9 am! I was so happyto get that extra couple hours of sleep! We got up and Andy gave me the present they got me, a white gold cross with diamonds, it's so beautiful! He said he thought it was a good first Mother's Day gift since I prayed so much for Hudson...which is SO true! :)

After we got ready we met my mom and Dean at The Ram for their Mother's Day brunch. We all ate a lot of delicious food, then we headed back to our place to visit for a while (and get Hudson HIS brunch!) We visited for a while and took a few pictures then they headed home and we spent the rest of the day relaxing. I spent most of the day smiling and cuddling with Hudson, feeling so blessed that I can finally celebrate Mother's Day with the best gift I have ever gotten! I am so lucky to have such a perfect little guy. He makes me so happy every day, I love being a mom more than I ever even knew I would!

Milestones!!

It's been another busy couple weeks with visitors and daily life with our little one. We are having so much fun as parents and loving watching Hudson grow and learn new things each day. Over the past few weeks he has become so much more alert and is spending more time awake during the day. It's been so much fun watching him recognize our voices and faces, look at toys, lay on his play mat and enjoy tummy time! He still isn't very interested in his swing, he usually only lasts a few minutes before he wants out, but he could lay on the floor forever looking at the toys hanging on his play mat and looking at himself in the little floor mirror we bought for him.

Another milestone he hit around week 5-6 was SMILING! He is now smiling 'socially' when we talk to him or when he's playing with his toys. It is so adorable to see!

One of Hudson's adorable smiles!!

Last Saturday was a busy day, we started off getting up early and heading to Point Defiance to walk in the March of Dimes. We walked with my friend Brie's team and had a great time. The walk wasn't too bad and Hudson slept most of it, which was a relief to me, since I was worried he'd wake up hungry! After the walk we headed home and a couple of Andy's friends/ex-coworkers came over for a lunch BBQ. They had a great time admiring Hudson and catching up with Andy since he hadn't seen them in a while.

Sunday we went down to Olympia and celebrated my Grandpa Lawrence's 79th birthday at the nursing home he's staying at. We enjoyed visiting with everyone and Hudson got to meet th rest of the family he hadn't met including my Uncle Dan and Aunt Gail, their daughters, Rachel and Anna and the McIntyre family! Unfortunately Grandpa isn't doing very well in the nursing home and seems to be declining in health each time we see him. It's very hard for me to see him like this, but I know he really enjoys seeing Hudson. He even commented on 'what a good looking baby he is.' We hope to get down there to visit him as much as we can while Andy and I are both off work since it will be hard once we are both working full time again.
Hayden (6 weeks) and Hudson (7 weeks)

Today we had a lunch playdate with The Smiths and baby Hayden! The boys spent half the time sleeping and eating, but did wake up for a bit to lay on a blanket together and look at eachother a bit! :) We can't wait until they start interacting with eachother and playing! It will be so fun to have them so close in age and watch them as they grow! After our play date we had dinner at my mom and Dean's house where my Great Aunt Jan and Great Uncle Dale were visiting. They were excited to meet Hudson for the first time and it was great to see them again since we don't see them often (they live in California).
