Back to reality (for Andy at least!)...

I can't believe how fast time is going by and how big my baby is getting already! The past couple weeks have flown by as we've stayed pretty busy. The week before this last one was Andy's last week at home. We tried to enjoy it as much as possible but the rainy weather made it hard for us to find much to do for free or cheap other than hang out around the house most of the time. It was a nice relaxing week for us as a family and Andy got some daddy/son time in :)

Monday Andy went back to work and I got my first dose of life as a Stay-at-home-mom. Honestly it was much harder without Andy here than I expected it to be! But, by the end of the week I was pretty used to doing everything on my own and expecting days where there was no time to shower or do much but tend to Hudson until later in the afternoon/evening! We didn't do too much during the week but we did make it up to Bothell for another play date with Joy and Hayden. As usual we had a great time visiting and comparing baby stories and the boys actually stayed awake long enough to play on the activity mat together and look around. It was so cute watching as Hudson would reach over and grab at Hayden and just look at him! I can't wait until they start interacting more..it's going to be so much fun watching them grow up together.

Yesterday was another busy day. Andy had to work so Hudson and I got ready and headed down to my dad's house for Missy's graduation party. All my Aunts, Uncles and cousins made it as well as Danielle and Steve and some of Missy's best friends :) It was great to see everyone again and they were all excited to see Hudson and how much he has grown in the past month and a half since they saw him last. After the BBQ we headed home to re-pack the diaper bag and head over to Keren and Steve's for a tasty BBQ and a fun game night with them and their friends Angela and Chris. We learned a new game and had a lot of good laughs! We're looking forward to some more fun nights with them hopefully in the near future!

Today is Sunday and Andy's only day off again until next Sunday so after the yardwork is done we're going to go for a run (I forgot to mention I registered for my first 5k that takes place on July 4th!) then get out and soak up some more of this sunshine!! (I will post more pictures once I get them uploaded from my camera)

Mariners, Wedding and Graduation!!

Wednesday afternoon we took Hudson to his first Mariners game!! Although I'm sure he probably had no idea where we were or what was going on, he seemed to have a good time! He loved walking around the stadium taking in all his surroundings. And once we sat down in our seats he even sat on our laps watching some of the game (or at least looking around). After about an hour of sitting there and having a bottle he was already exhausted and spent the rest of the game asleep...including meeting the Mariner's moose for the first time!! Even though it was a lot of work for us to pack everything up and take Hudson up to Seattle, we had a lot of fun taking him to his first game and look forward to more when he's older and knows what is going on!

We had a very busy Memorial Day weekend. We started it early by heading over to Spokane Thursday. We arrived Thursday afternoon and had a relaxing evening with Andy's parents and siblings who came over for dinner. We enjoyed catching up and they all loved seeing how much Hudson has grown since they saw him last.

Friday the festivities started with Andy heading out to the Spokane Country Club for a round of golf with his friend Joe who was getting married Saturday. While the boys golfed I met Andy's mom downtown to get Hudson's hand and footprints imprinted in clay. From there we went down to her office so she could show off her grandson :) Friday evening Andy and I left Hudson with his grandma and grandpa so we could attend the rehearsal dinner for the wedding. We had a good time and ate a delicious meal at the country club.

Saturday morning we woke up and pretty much started getting ready for the wedding. Andy had to be at the venue for pictures by 12:30, so Hudson and I took him there and we hung out with Katie and Kyle until the wedding started. Joe and Samantha had a beautiful ceremony, it was great to see them both and see how happy they were! After the wedding and reception we headed back over to Katie and Kyle's where we hung out for a while until it was time to take Hudson home to bed.

Sunday was yet another jam-packed day. We had brunch at 11 am for Andy's cousin Andrea who was graduating from high school that afternoon. Between brunch and the graduation we made the trip up to Andy's grandparent's house so they could meet their great grandson for the first time! It was very obvious that they were thrilled to meet him! Andy's grandma was able to hold Hudson for a long time while he looked at her smiling and giggling! Andy's grandpa held him too but unfortunately by then he was getting hungry so wasn't too happy :) After the visit with the grandparents we headed back downtown for Andrea's graduation. Hudson was such a good boy through most of the ceremony only crying for a couple seconds in the middle of it and he was awake through the whole thing!! After the graduation we went to Andy's aunt and uncle's house for a BBQ then finally home to get some MUCH needed rest!!

Monday we got on the road as soon as we were up and about but unfortunately still hit the nasty holiday traffic which turned the normal 4 1/2 hour drive into about a 6 hour drive :( Luckily both Maverick and Hudson spent most of the car ride asleep in the back seat, which made it a bit easier on us!!
Overall it was a crazy and busy weekend, but we were glad to spend some time with Andy's family again since we aren't able to do that very often!!

Another busy week!

The last month has been jam-packed with visiting people since Hudson was born. We have gotten to spend a lot of quality time with friends and family. Last week we had our 2nd "playdate" with the Smith family including baby Hayden who's just 8 days younger than Hudson. Although most of the day was spent with the boys sleeping and eating, we had a blast chatting with Joy and Dan about life with a newborn and posing the boys together for pictures! We can't wait until they're old enough to interact, our playdates will be so much fun then!!

Last weekend we made our first family roadtrip to Spokane to visit Andy's family! I thought we might be crazy for making the trip with a 3 week old and our crazy boxer but the trip went relatively smoothly! The drive there was a little obnoxious thanks to Maverick deciding to pant and whine the entire drive! We think it's because he was in the front seat (so I could sit in the back with Hudson) and he's used to having the whole backseat to himself. Other than that the ride was smooth sailing..Hudson slept the entire 5 hours (except for a quick pit stop in Ellensburg to fuel up and feed both him and us).
The weekend was a lot of fun visiting with Andy's parents, siblings and Aunt and Uncle. Us girls also got some shopping time in! Saturday we went to the mall where I found some awesome deals on a few cute outfits for Hudson. Sunday Katie (Andy's sister) and I went to the JBF Spokane sale where almost everything was 50% off!! I found some awesome deals, including onesies for 50 cents, pajamas for $1-$3 and a WSU tracksuit for $10! Although Hudson probably didn't NEED everything I found, I couldn't pass up the amazing deals on the cute stuff I got :) This sale made me excited to check out the one in Puyallup coming up in a couple weeks.
Overall we had an awesome weekend and feel so blessed to have such a great baby! He's so mellow and relaxed most of the time, especially on car rides!

RESOLVE: The National Infertility Association

RESOLVE is the National Infertility Association. They provide information and support for those suffering through infertility. While I was surfing the internet regarding infertility information I came across the "Friends and Family" section of the website and thought some of my friends and family may be interested in reading some of the common myths of infertility as well as info on what they can do/say (or not say) to help. If you're interested check out the link here.
